This venom contains various protein classes such as astacin-like metalloprotease, insecticidal peptides of low molecular mass, inhibitor cysine knot peptides (ICK), and phospholipase-D. The presence of the enzyme sphingomyelinase D in the venom is responsible for inducing necrosis [1].
