Magmas-IN-1 (compound 9) is a small-molecule Magmas inhibitor (SMMI) that targets Magmas, a mitochondria-associated granulocyte-macrophage colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) signaling molecule and a GM-CSF-inducible gene in myeloid cells, and by inhibiting Magmas mediated mitochondrial function, cellular energy homeostasis, and signaling pathways, while also suppressing yeast proliferation at a concentration of 4 µM, supporting its use in mitochondrial biology and cell growth regulation research.
