It impedes mitochondrial function by blocking oxygen consumption rate (OCR), inducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and diminishing mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP). Furthermore, SCAL-255 significantly hampers the proliferation of cancer cells reliant on oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) [1].
