Silane-PEG-COOH (MW 1000) is utilized for modifying proteins, peptides, and other materials with active functional groups. The carboxyl group (-COOH) readily forms stable amide bonds with amino groups and ester bonds with hydroxyl groups. Silane-functionalized PEG (Silane-PEG-X) is applicable for modifying surfaces such as glass and silicon.
