Silane-PEG-COOH (MW 2000) is applicable for modifying proteins, peptides, and other materials with active groups. The carboxyl group (-COOH) readily forms stable amide bonds with amino groups and ester bonds with hydroxyl groups. Silane-functionalized PEG (Silane-PEG-X) is also suitable for modifying surfaces like glass and silicon.
