Thiazoplanomicin (Compound 1) is a thiazolyl peptide antibiotic. It can be isolated from the deciduous actinomycete Actinoplanes sp. MM794L-181F6. Thiazoplanomicin exhibits potent antibacterial activity against gonococcal strains, particularly drug-resistant ones, and Gram-positive bacteria, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) ranging from 31.2-125 ng/mL and 0.5-15.6 ng/mL, respectively. It shows no antibacterial activity against E. coli. Thiazoplanomicin is suitable for bacterial infection research.
