A labeled adrenocortical steroid which exerts regulatory influence on metabolism of electrolytes and water. Biologically active aldosterone isomer, a mineralocorticoid produced by the adrenal cortex that induces urinary excretion of K+ and renal reabsorptioon of Na+.
