D-Tetrahydropalmatine is an alkaloid isolated from a traditional Chinese herb Rhizoma Corydalis (yanhusuo). D-Tetrahydropalmatine inhibits dopamine and serotonin uptake of synaptosomes in the rat brain. D-Tetrahydropalmatine also shows inhibitory effects on acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase.
