Lymphokine-activated killer T-cell-originated protein kinase, also known as PBK, is a serine/threonine kinase related to the dual specific mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPKK) family. PBK is abundant in placenta and absent from adult brain tissue. A PDZ domain in the tumor suppressor protein Dlg can coordinate with the T/SXV motif of PBK. This protein may be involved in the activation of lymphoid cells and support testicular functions, with a suggested role in the process of spermatogenesis. Source: Recombinant corresponding to aa1-322 from human PBK, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. This product is recommended for use in applications that do not require a catalytically active form of the protein. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
