IL-17A, also known as CTLA-8, is a cytokine that belongs to the Interleukin-17 family. It produced by activated T cells and plays an important role in anti-microbial and chronic inflammation. Mouse IL-17A shares 61% amino acid sequence identity with human IL-17A. It promotes protective mucosal and epidermal inflammation in response to microbial infection and induces chemokine production, neutrophil influx, and the production of antibacterial peptides. It can stimulate the expression of IL-6 and PTGS2/COX-2, as well as enhance the production of nitric oxide(NO). High levels of IL-17 are associated with several chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis. Also, IL-17A has been shown to exert either tumorigenic or anti-tumor effects. Recombinant mouse IL-17A, fused to His-Tag at C-terminal, was expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
