M6PRBP1 (mannose 6phosphate receptor binding protein), gene name PLIN3 (Perilipin3), also called TIP47 (tail interacting protein of 47kD) or PP17 (placental protein 17), is a 47kD intracellular transport protein that belongs to the PAT (Perilipin/Adipophilin/TIP47) family of molecules. The 434 amino acid (aa) human Perilipin3, which shares ~75% aa sequence identity with mouse and rat Perilipin3, contains a fourhelix bundle thought to interact with membranes, and may be phosphorylated and acetylated. A 251aa form (isoform A) has an alternate start site at aa184 of the 434aa form (isoform B). Perilipin3 is normally found predominantly in the cytoplasm. It is required for uptake of mannose6 phosphate receptors into endosomes. In the presence of excess lipids, such as in macrophagederived foam cells, Perilipin3 may transfer free fatty acids to lipid droplets, promoting their growth. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Western Blot: 0.5ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 12 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile PBS. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
