Fluorogenic substrate with red emission for use in detection of intracellular and in vitro lipase activity. Upon activity by the enzyme, the red fluorescent dye resorufin is released which has a low pKa for optimum emission readings at low pH values. The red fluorophore resorufin exhibits an absorption maximum at 571nm with emission at 585nm upon enzyme reaction.
