Diprotin A is a peptide hormone that belongs to the group of dpp-IV inhibitors. It inhibits the enzyme dipeptidyl peptidase IV, which is involved in the breakdown of cyclic AMP (cAMP) and thus prevents the release of substances such as leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). Diprotin A has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and can be used for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Diprotin A has been shown to inhibit cell factor activity in vitro, which may be due to its effects on chronic oral administration.
