6-(1-Piperidinyl)-2,4-pyrimidinediamine-3-oxide sulfate (6-PPO) is a compound that has shown pluripotent activity in vitro. It is also an ATP-binding cassette transporter inhibitor and can inhibit cell proliferation by binding to the matrix effect. 6-PPO has been shown to be a low potency inhibitor of skin cancer cells in vivo. 6-PPO may act as a chemosensitizer for tumor treatment with minoxidil, which inhibits the ATP sensitive potassium channels.
