Propranolol-2-O-b-D-glucuronide is a metabolite of propranolol hydrochloride. It has been shown to have low bioavailability in humans and rats. Propranolol-2-O-b-D-glucuronide is eliminated via the kidney, with an elimination rate that is faster than the parent drug propranolol hydrochloride. The glucuronide conjugate of propranolol, which is found in urine samples, has been shown to be a potential biomarker for glomerular filtration rate and renal function.
