| The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. This cytokine is a ligand for receptor TNFRSF18/AITR/GITR. It has been shown to modulate T lymphocyte survival in peripheral tissues. This cytokine is also found to be expressed in endothelial cells, and is thought to be important for interaction between T lymphocytes and endothelial cells. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa72-199 from human glucocorticoid-induced TNF-related ligand, fused to His-tag at N-terminal, expressed in HEK293 cells. Molecular Weight: ~17.1kD, this protein runs at a higher MW by SDS-PAGE due to glycosylation Endotoxin: <1EU/ug Applications: Suitable for use in studying protein binding and for screening small molecules and antibodies. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. |
