Nestin is an intermediate filament protein that is expressed predominantly in stem cells of the central nervous system in the neural tube. Upon differentiation, Nestin is replaced by cell type-specific intermediate filaments, (e.g., neurofilaments and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP)). Nestin expression is re-induced after CNS injury and during regeneration of injured muscle tissue. Applications: Suitable for use in Flow Cytometry, Western Blot and Immunohistochemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Flow Cytometry: 1:200-1:500 Western Blot: 1:500-1:1000 Immunohistochemistry: 1:100-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
