The HMGI family of proteins are architectural transcription factors and consists of three members, HMGIC, HMGI and HMGI(Y). Recent research results implicate HMGIC as playing a central role in obesity. Mice with a partial or complete deficiency in HMGIC expression resisted diet and leptin induced obesity. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
