BCL2-associated athanogene 2, also known as BAG2, is a member of the Bag family of proteins. BAG proteins compete with Hip for binding to the Hsc70/Hsp70 ATPase domain. BAG2 is a major component of the HSC 70/CHIP chaperone-dependent ubiquitin ligase complex and acts to disrupt CHIP-mediated ubiquitylation. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-211 of human BAG2, fused to His-tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli.
