Thiosulfate sulfurtransferase like domain containing 1, also known as TSTD1, belongs to the family of transferases, specifically the sulfurtransferases, which transfer sulfur-containing groups. The TSTD1 protein is localized around the nuclear membranes. It is expressed in several human tissues, including kidney, liver, skeletal muscle, heart, colon, thymus, spleen, placenta and lung. The TSTD1 protein may play roles in cyanide detoxification, the formation of iron-sulfur proteins, and the modification of sulfur-containing enzymes.
