Sample Type: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and cell lysates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of equine estradiol (E2) concentrations in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and cell lysates. Sensitivity: 25pg/ml Range: 25-1000pg/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of equine E2. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between equine E2 and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay(TM) employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with goat-anti-rabbit antibody. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with an antibody specific for E2 and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated E2. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between with HRP labeled E2 and unlabeled E2 with the antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of E2 in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. Store other components at 4C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
