Sample Type: Serum, plasma, tissue homogenates Intended Use: For the quantitative determination of equine tri-iodothyronine (T3) concentrations in serum, plasma and tissue homogenates. Sensitivity: 0.25ng/ml Range: 0.5-8ng/ml Specificity: This assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of equine T3. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between equine T3 and analogues was observed. Test Principle: This BioAssay(TM) employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to T3. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Biotin-conjugated T3. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between T3 (Standards or samples) and Biotin-conjugated T3 with the pre-coated antibody specific for T3. The more amount of T3 in samples, the less antibody bound by Biotin-conjugated T3. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develops in opposite to the amount of T3 in the sample. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. Kit Components: Assay plate, 1x96 wells Standard, 5x1ml Conjugate, 1x6ml HRP-avidin, 1x6ml Wash Buffer (20X), 1x15ml Substrate A, 1x7ml Substrate B, 1x7ml Stop Solution, 1x7ml Storage and Stability: Store powder at 4C liquid at -20C. Store other components at 4C. Stable for at least 6 months For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
