Alpha-1-acid glycoprotein 1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the ORM1 gene. The structural gene for orosomucoid (ORM1) is assigned to the end of the long arm of chromosome 9 by demonstration of linkage to ABO and AK1. This gene encodes a key acute phase plasma protein. Because of its increase due to acute inflammation, this protein is classified as an acute-phase reactant. The specific function of this protein has not yet been determined, however, it may be involved in aspects of immunosuppression. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA, Western Blot. and Immunohistohemistry. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: ELISA: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Western Blot: 0.1-0.5ug/ml Immunohistochemistry (paraffin): 0.5-1ug/ml Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
