Zika virus is a mosquito-borne Flavivirus. It is usually a mild, self-limiting infection of short duration resulting in fever and a rash. The symptoms are similar to those caused by Dengue virus and Chikungunya virus. However recent cases during pregnancy have resulted in fetal neurological complications with resulting birth defects. There is also evidence that the virus can be transmitted sexually. Applications: Suitable for use in Immunofluorescence and ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilutions: Immunofluorescence: 1:10-1:50 ELISA: 1:20-1:200 Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Best ELISA Pairs (Capture-Conjugate): 353515-353516 353516-353514 353517-353516 Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
