Serpine2, as known as glia-derived nexin, is a member of the Serpin superfamily of the serine protease inhibitors. This protein is a potent inhibitor of thrombin, plasmin and plasminogen activators. It is differentially expressed during neuronal differentiation and is able to transform human embryonic kidney cells into neuron-like cells. Also, it is over expression in mice leads to progressive neuronal and motor dysfunction in these animals. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa20-397 from mouse Serpine2, fused to His-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in insect cell. Molecular Weight: ~42.9kD (386aa) 40-57kD (SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.) Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
