TPST2, also known as protein-tyrosine sulfotransferase 2, is the enzyme that catalyzes the sulfation reaction of protein tyrosines, a post-translational modification of proteins. This protein is a type II integral membrane protein found in the Golgi body. Compared to TPST1, TPST2 has similar tissue distribution and overlapping substrate specificity. In contrast to TPST1-/- males with normal fertility in mice, TPST2-/- males are infertile due to severe defects in sperm motility. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa26-377 from human TPST2, fused to His-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in insect cell. Molecular Weight: ~40.4kD (361aa) 40-57KD (SDS-PAGE under reducing conditions.) Endotoxin: ~1EU/1ug (LAL) Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
