Binds to 5-TGTCG[CT]GA[CT]A-3 DNA elements found in the promoter regions of a number of genes related to cell proliferation. Binds to the histone H1 promoter and stimulates transcription. Was first identified as gene weakly similar to Ac transposable elements, but does not code for any transposase activity. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-210 from human ZBED1, fused to GST-Tag at N-terminal expressed in E. coli. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
