Ractopamine (RA) is a synthetic beta-adrenoreceptor agonist. It is used in the treatment of congestive heart failure and muscular dystrophy, increase muscle growth, decrease fat deposition and is beneficial for the growth of fetus and newborn. Ractopamine is used as a new type of Clenbuterol by some porcine farms. There is different regulations among different countries about Ractopamines scope of application and security in the breeding industry. Since Dec 5, 2011, the production and sales of Ractopamine have been banned in China. This BioAssay(TM) kit is a detection product developed based on ELISA technology, with operation time as short as 50 minutes. Sample Type: Porcine urine 0.1ppb, porcine and bovine 0.4ppb Intended Use: This BioAssay(TM) kit allows for the in vitro quantitative determination of Ractopamine concentrations in urine, feed, tissue (porcine, liver). Sensitivity: 0.1ppb Range: 0.1-8.1ppb Precision: Intra-assay: CV%<10% Inter-assay: CV%<10% Test Principle: This BioAssay(TM) employs the competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. The microtiter plate provided in this BioAssay(TM) kit has been pre-coated with Ractopamine antigen. Standards or samples are added to the appropriate microtiter plate wells with Ractopamine specific antibody and Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugated anti-antibody. The competitive inhibition reaction is launched between pre-coated Ractopamine and Ractopamine in standards or samples with the Ractopamine special antibody. A substrate solution is added to the wells and the color develo ps in opposite to the amount of Ractopamine in the standards or samples. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
