IL1R2, also known as interleukin-1 receptor type 2 isoform 1, is a cytokine receptor that belongs to the interleukin-1 receptor family. This protein is expressed predominantly by, T cells, fibroblasts and endothelial cells. It binds interleukin-1alpha (IL1A), interleukin-1beta (IL1B), and interleukin 1 receptor antagonist (IL1RN), preventing them from binding to their regular receptors and thereby inhibiting the transduction of their signaling. Also, Interleukin-4 (IL4) is reported to antagonize the activity of interleukin-1 by inducing the expression and release of this cytokine. Recombinant human IL1R2, fused to His-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques.
