Il6, also known as interleukin 6, is an alpha-helical phosphorylated and glycosylated cytokine. This protein is important roles in the acute phase reaction, inflammation, hematopoiesis, bone metabolism and cancer progression. Also, it can function as an anti-inflammatory molecule, as in skeletal muscle where it is secreted in response to exercise In addition, it enhances hematopoietic stem cell proliferation and the differentiation of Th17 cells, memory B cells, and plasma cells. Recombinant rat Il6, fused to His-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in insect cell and purified by using conventional chromatography techniques. The ED50 for this effects is less or equal to 0.1ng/ml. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
