Name derived from the native word for Easter Island, RapaNui. Used as an immunosuppressant, antirestenotic. Sirolimus (INN/USAN), also known as rapamycin, is an immunosuppressant drug used to prevent rejection in organ transplantation, it is especially useful in kidney transplants.
