5-Bromo-6-fluoro-1,3-benzodioxole is a reagent in the synthesis of 4-amino-6-heterocyclylpicolinates and 6-amino-2-heterocyclylpyrimidine-4-carboxylates which are used as herbicides. 5-Bromo-6-fluoro-1,3-benzodioxole is also a reagent in the synthesis of 2-alkynyl- and 2-alkenylpyrazolo[4,3-e]-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-c]pyrimidines which are used as adenosine A2a receptor antagonists.
