This assay monitors the hydrolysis of glycosidic bond by ß-glucosidase and its enzymatic activity has clinic applications for investigating Gauchers disease. In addition, novel fluorogenic substrates may find utility in high-throughput and sensitive detection applications such as metagenomic screening.
