Blonanserin C is an intermediate in the synthesis of Blonanserin, a 5-HT2 serotonin receptor and D2 dopamine receptor antagonist, used as an antipsychotic. Blonanserin C is an atypical antipsychotic drug that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of schizophrenia. This drug has been studied in healthy Chinese subjects and was found to have a long-term efficacy in the treatment of schizophrenia. Blonanserin C is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and excreted by the kidneys, with a half-life of approximately 18 hours. The pharmacokinetics of blonanserin C have been investigated using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) methods. The major metabolites of blonanserin C are N-desmethylblonanserin and 2',3'-didehydroblonanserin.
