cDPCP is a tumor cell permeable, potent platinum-based antineoplastic agent. It is a cationic monofunctional platinum(II) complex with unique chemical and biological properties. cDPCP binds covalently only to a single DNA base (the N7 atom of a single guanosine residue), and thus forms monofunctional rather than bifunctional lesions with DNA. cDPCP effectively blocks transcription from DNA templates carrying adducts of the complex, unlike DNA lesions of other monofunctional platinum(II) compounds. Synonyms: cis-Diammine(pyridine)chloroplatinum(II) chloride, Pyriplatin, cis-[Pt(NH3)2(py)Cl]+ chloride, (SP-4-2)-Diamminechloro(pyridine)-platinum(1+) Chloride CAS No: 106343-54-8 Molecular Formula: C5H11ClN3PtCl Molecular Weight: 343.70 Appearance: Yellow solid Purity: 95% Elemental Analysis: (Theoretical) %C: 15.84, %H: 2.92, %N: 11.08 (Actual) %C: 16.02, %H: 2.97, %N: 11.55 NMR: Conforms to Structure MS: Conforms to Structure TLC Conditions: SiO2, Dichloromethane : Methanol = 8 : 2, Visualized with UV and KMnO4, Single Spot, Rf = 0.30.
