Methyldiazenyl is a product from the thermal decomposition of azomethane, Derived from N-Methyl-N-nitroso Urea (M325815), which is a precursor of Diazomethane. It has a cytotoxicity effect. An intermediate used in the synthesis of N-[2-[2-[2-[Bis(carboxymethyl)amino]-5-(diazoacetyl)phenoxy]ethoxy]-4-methylphenyl]-N-(carboxymethyl)-glycine Tetrapotassium Salt (B416505), which is more stable as dilute aqueous solution since solid form is light sensitive and is susceptible to decomposition.
