N-Oleoylethanolamide generates an intestinal signal that stimulates central dopamine activity establishing a link between caloric-homeostatic and hedonic-homeostatic controllers. Oleoylethanolamide has been implicated as the molecular mechanism associated with gastric bypass success. N-Oleoylethanolamide is a selective GPR55 agonist.
