| Oligomycin is a specific inhibitor of the mitochondrial ATP-synthase. Oligomycin is a polypeptide antibiotic that inhibits the mitochondrial respiratory chain. It binds to the 16S rRNA of the 30S subunit of the ribosome and prevents peptide elongation, leading to bacterial cell death.
