CBX1 is the component of heterochromatin. CBX1 recognizes and binds histone H3 tails methylated at Lys-9, leading to epigenetic repression. CBX1 interaction with lamin B receptor (LBR) can contribute to the association of the heterochromatin with the inner nuclear membrane.Heterochromatin protein-1 (HP1) is localized at heterochromatin sites, where it mediates gene silencing.[supplied by OMIM]. Applications: Suitable for use in Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 12 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
