Some lectin trigger mitogenic activities in differentiated or resting cells. These lectins do not cause toxicity. A right concentration of affinity purified Sambucus nigra (Elderberry) Lectin (SNA/EBL I) is provided in a sterile solution for stimulating cells that respond to the lectin. Source: Elderberry Blood Specificity: A > B > O Sugar Specificity: Sialic Acid Conjugate Specificity: None Inhibitory Carbohydrate: Lactose > beta-Galactose Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
