Succinylated Concanavalin A Lectin (Succ Con A) is conjugated to ferritin, that has a molecular weight of 474,000 g/mol (all 24 subunits combined). Ferritin-conjugated lectins can be used to visualize localization of specific saccharide moieties and examine the distribution of plasma membrane glycoproteins. These conjugates can be viewed via electron microscopy. Source: Jackbean Blood Specificity: None Sugar Specificity: alpha-Mannose, alpha-Glucose Inhibitory Carbohydrate: alpha-Methylmannoside + alpha-Methylglucoside Divalent Ions: Ca++, Mn++ Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store at 4C. Do not freeze. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
