Recombinant protein corresponding to Coronavirus, SARS Associated, Spike, fused to GST-Tag, expressed in E. coli. Contains a mosaic of the immunodominant regions of the N-terminal of the Spike protein. Not full-length spike protein. Immunoreactive with SARS positive sera. Molecular Weight: ~38kD. May appear as multiple bands on SDS-PAGE (intact protein at 38kD, GST fusion protein at 26kD and the Nucleocapsid fragment at 12kD). Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
