Serum is the liquid component of blood that includes proteins, immunoglobulin and electrolytes. The product can be used for selective removal of contaminating antibodies when immobilized on a solid matrix. This product can also be used in anti-protective antigen (anti-PA) IgG measurements using PA coupled microspheres. Human serum deficient of IgG, IgA, and IgM can react specifically with anti-human whole serum but does not show reactivity with anti-human IgG, IgA, or IgM. Applications: Serum minus IgA/IgM/IgG (human) has been used as a control serum in immunoelectrophoresis, immunodiffusion, enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. May also be used as control sera to assess neuraminidase inhibition, for microneutralization assays, and for single radial hemolysis (SRH) repeatability assay. Reconstitution: Reconstitute with 500ul sterile ddH2O Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
