SNRPD1 encodes a small nuclear ribonucleoprotein that belongs to the SNRNP core protein family. SNRPD1 may act as a charged protein scaffold to promote SNRNP assembly or strengthen SNRNP-SNRNP interactions through nonspecific electrostatic contacts with RNA.
