Catalyzes the alpha,beta-elimination reaction of D-cysteine and of several D-cysteine derivatives. It could be a defense mechanism against D-cysteine. Can also catalyze the degradation of 3-chloro-D-alanine. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa2-328 from Escherichia coli D-cysteine desulfhydrase, fused to 6X His-Tag at N-terminal, expressed in E.coli. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
