Binds and compacts DNA (95 to 150 base pairs) to form nucleosome-like structures that contain positive DNA supercoils. Increases the resistance of DNA to thermal denaturation in vitro. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa1-69 from Methanothermus fervidus DNA-binding protein HMf-2, fused to 10X His-Tag at N-terminal and Myc-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in Baculovirus. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
