The heterodimer glycoprotein H-glycoprotein L is required for the fusion of viral and plasma membranes leading to virus entry into the host cell. Acts as a functional inhibitor of gH and maintains gH in an inhibited form. Upon binding to host integrins, gL dissociates from gH leading to activation of the viral fusion glycoproteins gB and gH. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa22-159 from Varicella-zoster virus Envelope glycoprotein L, fused to 10X His-Tag at N-terminal and Myc-Tag at C-terminal, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~22.6kD Amino Acid Sequence: LHLQDDTPLFFGAKPLSDVSLIITEPCVSSVYEAWDYAAPPVSNLSEALSGIVVKTKCPVPEVILWFKDKQMAYWTNPYVTLKGLAQSVGEEHKSGDIRDALLDALSGVWVDSTPSSTNIPENGCVWGADRLFQRVCQ Storage and Stability: Lyophilized and reconstituted products are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer.
