Cytochalasin Z2 is one of a family of potent mycotoxins produced by several species of fungi first reported by Munro, Blunt and colleagues, University of Canterbury, New Zealand in 2002. Cytochalasin Z2 is an indole-substituted perhydroisoindol-1-one fused with an 11-membered macrocycle. Unlike its analogue cytochalasin Z3, cytochalasin Z2 was inactive in a root elongation assay. Cytochalasin Z2 possesses cytostatic activity against a range of tumor cell lines. Source: Drechslera sp.
