Indigoidine is an intense blue pigment produced by Corynebacterium, Pseudomonas and other bacteria. The production of indigoidine is regulated by cell-to-cell communications in marine roseobacter. Indigoidine is a powerful radical scavenger and inhibits growth of diverse microorganisms such as C. albicans, E. coli and S. aureus, providing a competitive edge in marine and aquatic environments. Indigoidine confers cold tolerance to producing bacteria. Source: Streptomyces sp. CAS No: 2435-59-8 Molecular Formula: C10H8N4O4 Molecular Weight: 248.2 Appearance: Blue solid Solubility: DMSO.
