Cladobotric acid E is an analogue of a family of related tetradehydrodecalin trienoic acid polyketides isolated from an undescribed Cladobotryum strain by Munro, Blunt and co-workers at Canterbury University, New Zealand in 2006. Cladobotric acid E exhibits notable activity against a murine P388 leukemia cell line and is moderately active against methicillin-resistant and vancomycin intermediate S. aureus.
